When my sister recommended I read this book, I will admit I wasn't familiar with the plot or even the notability of the book, but was still skeptical about whether I'd like it or not.
I was in for a shocker. I found this book to be beautifully written, very genuine, and extremely sad. The irreverent humor really punctuated the sad parts, but at the same time intensified the sadness of the parts. I also thought the plot would be very predictable; I was not expecting any of the plot points, which is unusual for me.
I would strongly recommend this book for anyone, young and old. It's sad, but at the end of the day, I felt better for having read this tragic story.
