Not As Solid As the First Two, But Still Pretty Good

A Storm of Swords - George R.R. Martin

I was really excited in some spots, but disappointed in others. For one, Martin's first two books in this series were really fast paced. This one was disjointed overall; yes, there were some really great chapters and sections, but also some really slow ones with so little passing in them that I wish I'd have skipped them. For the first time, I didn't like reading Arya's chapters, and she's one of my favorite characters.

I will say that I liked a number of plot points and was surprised at a few of the events, particularly some events involving Tyrion, Sansa, and the events in the epilogue. I'm excited to go on with the series in the next volume and find out what else happens.
