3.75 stars. When I started this book, I thought it was a children's book; no one was going to die, the character development was going to be lax, and everyone was going to live happily ever after. Boy, was I wrong! It may look like a children's book when you look at the cover, but it is quite honestly a story for tweens, at the youngest. The language was simple; I didn't have to look anything up. However, this is about feral animals, and there were no frills or romanticizing about it. Cats die, they bleed, they get attacked, they starve if the don't catch anything to eat.I'm actually enthusiastic about reading the next book, and I hope my feelings about this series continues to be positive.
