I read all kinds of books (one of my friends jokes that I will read anything that holds still long enough), but sci fi/fantasy is my favorite. I also love books on anthropology and archaeology and other sciences.
This wasn't a bad book per se, but it just didn't have the pacing of the other books in the series. It also wasn't written at the same time as the previous books, so there were a few inconsistencies. All in all, it's a decent read.
