This was a fantastic book. Clarke was practically a poet in his descriptions; I can see why it's remained so popular.I had seen the movie before reading the book on advice from a friend, and while I wish I hadn't because of the confusion some of the scenes caused me, the book did fill in the blanks that the movie left in my mind. I look forward to reading 2010 once my husband finishes it.
