Normally, reading textbooks is a chore; they are often dry, clunky, and full of unfamiliar terminology. This book, however, is a different story.
It reads very quickly and actually has a good habit of defining words without getting too wordy. The colorful pictures and examples of other cultures that pertain to the themes of each chapter are a great touch.
I highly recommend this book for a basic cultural anthropology class, but it won't be as good past the introductory level because it is so pedestrian.
